Dr. Marjorie MacDonald
Dr. Marjorie MacDonald is a native of St. John's. She graduated from Acadia University in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition. Dr. MacDonald then completed a Dietetic Internship at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
In 1984 she obtained her Dental Degree from Dalhousie University.
Upon completion she returned to Newfoundland and began practicing in Mount Pearl. In 1988 she built and opened First Street Dental.
While working full time and raising two children with her husband, Douglas Munn, Dr. MacDonald has also been very involved in organized dentistry. She has served on numerous local committees of the Newfoundland Dental Association and is a Past President.
Dr. MacDonald has served on committees of the Canadian Dental Association and was one of the committee chairs of the Canadian Dental Association national meeting held in St. John's August, 2006.
Dr. MacDonald has always far exceeded all requirements for continuing education and in recent years has taken numerous courses at the world renowned Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies. As a result she has established herself as one of a select group of dentists in Newfoundland able to provide state of the art cosmetic procedures and pain management for TMJ.
Dr. MacDonald has been certified by the International Association for Orthodontics and is a member of the following societies:

Dr. MacDonald is also certified for soft tissue laser treatment which is available with her at our practice.Dr. Shannon Barker
Dr. Barker was originally from St. John's but raised in Labrador City.
After completing undergraduate studies at Memorial University and the University of Prince Edward Island, Dr. Barker graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at Dalhousie University in 2001.
Upon graduation Dr. Barker joined First Street Dental and also practiced part time in Holyrood for a few months.
In 2004 he married his wife Jennifer and these days they call St. Phillips home along with their daughter.
Dr. Barker has continued his dental education taking courses in the fields of orthodontics, endodontics (root canals) and restorative dentistry.
in 2006 Dr. Barker became a partner at First Street Dental and looks forward to providing the best dental care possible for his patient family.
Dr. Shane Roberts
Dr. Roberts was born and raised in Wabush, Labrador.
He obtained his degree in Biology from the University of New Brunswick before graduating from Dalhousie University School of Dentistry in 2002.
Dr. Roberts practiced in Bay Roberts, Newfoundland, and in Chester, Nova Scotia. In 2005 he joined us at First Street Dental.
In May, 2007 Dr. Roberts married his wife Judy and they have settled in Paradise along with their daughter.
Shane enjoys sharing his love of dentistry with his patients and provides an education orientated approach to dental care.
Dr. Wade Power
Dr. Power was born in St. John's but has also spent a large portion of his life in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. It was in Nova Scotia that he met his wife, Tara, and married in 2006.
He is a graduate of the Biology program at Saint Mary's University followed by the Doctorate of Dental Surgery program at Dalhousie University, having completed his degree in 2007.
Dr. Power began his career in practicing family dentistry in Gander, Newfoundland. Following this he returned to Nova Scotia to practice in both Dartmouth and Truro. In 2010 he returned to his native Newfoundland to join us at First Street Dental. His scope encompasses every facet of general dentistry with a commitment to comprehensive oral health care.
