Dr. Marjorie MacDonald is a native of St. John's. She graduated from Acadia University in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition. Dr. MacDonald then completed a Dietetic Internship at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

In 1984 she obtained her Dental Degree from Dalhousie University.

Upon completion she returned to Newfoundland and began practicing in Mount Pearl. In 1988, while working full time and raising two children with her husband, Douglas Munn, she built and opened First Street Dental.

She has served on numerous local committees of the Newfoundland Dental Association and is a Past President.

Dr. MacDonald has served on committees of the Canadian Dental Association and was one of the committee chairs of the Canadian Dental Association national meeting held in St. John's August, 2006 and will again in 2014. She serves on the Dental Benefits board for MCP.

Dr. MacDonald has always far exceeded all requirements for continuing education and in recent years has taken numerous courses. She is a graduate of the world renowned Las Vegas Institute. As a result she has established herself as one of a select group of dentists in Newfoundland able to provide state of the art procedures and pain management for TMJ. Dr. MacDonald is also certified for soft tissue laser treatment which is available with her at our practice.

Dr. MacDonald has been certified by the International Association for Orthodontics and is a member of the following societies:

  • Newfoundland Dental Association
  • Canadian Dental Association
  • American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry
